ThinkPad T30 Laptop

ThinkPad T30 Notebook Review:

One of the drawbacks of owning powerful laptops is their cooling ability, or lack thereof. A few years ago, many commercial notebooks weigh heavily because they had to include some cooling system that would serve as the ventilation for the entire unit. This results to extra weight, which can be annoying especially if you travel around a lot. Thanks to the ThinkPad T30 laptop, IBM seems to have broken the norm.

While the Lenovo ThinkPad T30 notebook still carries in its body an airflow system, IBM has managed to reduce the weight of other components so that it only weighs 5.1 lbs. This is a significant improvement considering that many people find it too much hassle to carry around a laptop along with a heavy luggage. And if you think its weight is the only thing that it’s got going for it, think again. At 36mm thick, the T30 ThinkPad is really handy. You can insert it into the slimmest compartment of your bag and it would most likely fit right in.

But what really makes this Lenovo laptop tick is its 1.8GHz Pentium 4 processor. It allows successive downloading of applications without suffering latency. Its 256MB memory can store up tons of images, programs, videos, and music and still have room for your personal files. To top it all off, this IBM ThinkPad has a 40GB hard disk which perfectly complements the already huge processor.

It doesn’t have a floppy drive, but in this day and age, who still uses a floppy drive? This isn’t really much of a downer since you have plenty of options of storing your files such as a USB and a rewritable disk. But if you insist on having one, you can simply buy an external floppy drive and attach it on one of the outlets at the back panel. And of course, ThinkPad notebooks such as the ThinkPad T30 2366 would be completely useless if you couldn’t connect them using wireless technology. This Lenovo notebook has the standard modem hardware as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities.

Its keyboard couldn’t have been better. It is well-positioned above the pad and contains the usual 85 keys. It’s really all about comfort. The juxtaposition between the keyboard and the screen is a sight to behold. If you’re worried about outer protection, know that the cover is made of Titanium alloy which is one of the strongest materials around.

There’s also the screen which is capable of high-resolution performance. This makes for good graphics when making construction projects or designing websites. The entire graphics, by the way, has a 1400×1050 pixel screen. This makes movie and video watching a truly wonderful experience.

Another aspect that you might be interested in is the battery life. The ThinkPad T30 2367 clocks at 3 hours of continuous usage. But if you configure it on a wireless LAN setting, it only lasts for 2.5 hours. The ThinkPad T30 price has gone considerably lower since its release. If you haven’t had the opportunity to buy it then, now is the time to indulge in this amazing technology.
